This is all I have on Amos Sines.
IS HE BURIED ALIVE?
A Young Man Missing and Thought to Have Mired in Swamp
A gentleman of this city informed a Times reporter Saturday evening that he had received information from Sang Run, Garrett county, that a young man who lived at that place, named Amos Sines, the 24 - year old son of Solomon Sines, had probably met with a deplorable death.
The young man who is said to have been somewhat demented, went into the woods about two weeks ago for the purpose of cutting wood, and as he did not return when nightfall came on, his folks went out in search of him. His ax was found where he had been at work, and some distance further on his hat was discovered, but although two weeks have elapsed and the forest scoured day and night by a searching party the young man has not been found.
There is an immense swamp in that neighborhood which is covered with a thick growth of underbrush, and it is thought that he must have gotten into the seamp and was either swallowed up in the mire or became fastened in the same and , being unable to extricate himself was frozen to death. Young Sines' probable sad death is creating much excitement in that section of the country.
