THANKS FOR RESPONDING! Tyrone is located in Ulster, which is now considered northern ireland, however, the time period we are refering of there was no division in ireland. skiffington/skeffington is pronounced as it sounds in ireland, but thought maybe with an accent it was heard and spelt differently in the states. i have found one record for a michael (spelt)skefington in ottawa, canada. haveresearched further withoutany success. i did find a charles (spelt)skiefington in a civil war record having enlisted in new york. also i reread old letters and one stated that michael went south to maybe alabama. thanks!
