My name is James Alfred (Al) Graham. I was adopted in to the Graham family in 1948. As part of the Tennessee Childrens' Home Society mess of that era, I am trying to find my real past.
The information, what little there is, is that I was abandoned at the Chattanooga, TN. City Hall on September 28, 1948, and appeared to be about two days old, and was born somewhere North of Atlanta.A search of records, including the Chattanooga newspaper, shows a picture of me as an infant, and no family appeared as a result of that article in 1948.
I have been researching through DNA sites, and seem to be very closely related to the paternal surname of Slack. In fact, I have 25 of 25 markers with one person, and two others are within l or 2 markers of that.I am awaiting results of 37 and 67 marker tests which should be complete within a few weeks.Through this testing, I aeem to have a connection to the Lambert family as well, but not as closely as to the Slack family.
I have been very blessed to have wonderful parents and grandparents, and I have been married to my wife almost 40 years. We have wonderful children and grandchildren, and I have enjoyed a very good life.I am not seeking anything except knowledge of my family background so I may leave this heritage for my descendants.
If you can shed any light on my "unsolved mystery", I would love to hear from you.
