I cannot remeber whether I gave you this information previously - but no harm done if I didn't.
My Grandmother was a Sladen and I have recently started to trace the family line. All I have at present is:
Edwin Sladen. born c. 1844 in Wardle, Lancs, died c.1879 in Rochdale, married Sarah Stott in June quarter 1866 at Rochdale. The children were Bette, Sarah Alice bornc. 1867, Alice Ann and my grandmother Hetty Rigg born c. 1871/2 in Wardle, died 4 March 1927 in Castleton Rochdale, married Richard Law march quarter 1891 in Rochdale.
In 1891 census Richard & Hetty were living at 24 Cowin Street, Spotland, Rochdale (Parents Samuel Law & Martha Kershaw were at No 25 and brother James Law & wife at No 29)
and by 1901 had moved to 54 Tong Lane, Whitworth, Rochdale. They also lived at 22 Acre Street, Whitworth and latterly at 40 Canal Street, Castleton, Rochdale. Hetty is buried in St Martin's church, Castleton. I am hoping to visit relatives in Rochdale shortly ( I live in Scotland)and check some details.
