Hi WHO KNEW, OMG, THANK YOU so much for this info; have been going round and round in circles trying to put my WEEDENS,WEELDONS,WHILDENS,WHELDONS/BROWNS AA/Native family line together for 13yrs and have yet to find a connection. Have had a theory that my VA ancestors were among those who migrated to NS and CA in 1783, and keep going back to the 'BOOK OF NEGROES' as I find many familiar surnames, including WEEDON, listed there. Family lore told of being FPOC coming from England as indentured servants, but I found my ggrandfather, WM LAWRENCE WEELDON, Black, first in 1870 NC and suspect that he was a slave of the WHEELDON/WHILDEN family of SC. I am so very grateful for the info you found, and shall continue to follow this lead. Warm regards. carol wheeldin warren.
