Do you have her obituary? If not, then there is a chance that parents might be named. You can order a copy from the local library, they have an online index. I'm giving you a link at the bottom of this message. Both David C. and Mrs. D. C. (Barbara) are listed. His appeared in the 11 Feb. 1928 "Times" and her's in the 4 July 1933 edition. You should, if you haven't already, obtain her death certificate - the obit should give the exact date of death if you don't have it. I have gotten Tennessee DC's from roughly this period and they do list parents (if known by the informant). Also, this couple was married 13 March 1879 in Meigs County, TN so have you searched 1870 census records for that year? Have you requested a copy of the marriage record? If not, I suggest you try to obtain copies of the original record because if her birth date is correct then she would have been a minor so perhaps the father would have had to give his permission. Just some thoughts, there are other options. Here is the library link:
