For anyone interested in the line of John Budd Slawson, Jr. (son of Dewitt Slawson and Elizabeth Horton) and his wife Sarah Slaughter and their family:
Sarah Slaughter Slawson was incorrectly listed in the George Slawson genealogy as having died in Sacramento, CA on April 16, 1891 and a native of England and born in 1831 which is also incorrect. Here is the correct information from her obit in the DuQuoin Tribune-- her date of death was June 22, 1876, age 37 years, place of birth Louisville, Kentucky. She died in DuQuoin, Illinois. (She was the sister of my greatgrandfather Henry Clay Slaughter from Louisville, Ky.)
Somehow George Slawson confused her with the wife of Joseph Slawson, Jane Elizabeth Wright, who died in 1891 and was born in England in 1831.
