I have been looking at the Smiser's in Woodford Co., IL.I have not been able to find their connection to the other Smiser's.The following comes from: http://www.elpaso.net/~bank/elpasohistory/epstory/http://www.elpaso.net/~bank/elpasohistory/epstory/ El Paso Story The Centennial Book of El Paso, Illinois

"SMISER, Adam – He was born in Germany in 1830, came to America in 1854, and to Woodford County in 1857. He was the father of John Smiser, grandfather of Peter Smiser. He was probably not settled on his Palestine farm before 1867, but had been in the area from '57. His farm was on the old State Road: the E 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 33. He married Margaret Hutch of Germany."
Whether this is correct is not known. I found in the 1900 Census of Woodford Co., IL Adams Smiser b. March 1857 and wife Katy b. Nov 1859 are found with children: Phoebeb. Dec 1882 Margaret b. Feb 1888 Maryb. Jan 1895 Dellab. May 1898
John Smiser b. Dec. 1860 and wife Katie (Katherine Baker) b. May 1867 are foun with children: Peter b. May 1889 Sarah b. Nov 1894 William b. Sept. 1858(brother of John and Adams?)
It appears that Adam Smiser & Margaret Hutch arrived in the county about 1857. They had at least three sons, Adam(s), John and William found in the county in 1900.
I am not convinced that they are of Abram Smiser and Susan Leming of OH. Abram used either the "Smyser" or "Smysor" spelling of surname.
