William Truman Smitherman according to the 1900 US Bibb Co., Al. Census ED9 Sheet 12 was age 11 born August 1889. He and his brother Claud Smitherman born September 1884 were living in the household of their grandfather Jasper N Campbell.
Jasper Newton Campbell was born 9 November 1836 in Lebenon, Dekalb Co., Al and died 25 June 1911 Bibb County, Alabama [all Campbell information is according to GenForum post of Eddie Randolph] buried at Mt. Carmel Church Cem. West Blocton, Alabama [Bibb Co.] Jasper N married Axie Elizabeth Broadhead on 8 Jan 1859 in Shelby Co., AL. She was the daughter of James Russell Broadhead and Lucretia Pearson.
Campbelltown in Bibb County Alabama is suppose to be named after Jasper Newton Campbell.
According to another post by Kelley Gregory, Jasper Newton Campbell had a daughter named Mary L Campbell [born December 1859]who married a Smitherman. His name is unknown at this time. Another child of Jasper N was Dr. Charles Monroe Campbell. Charles Monroe Campbell is said to have delivered former Alabama Governor Lurleen Burns Wallace.
