John Smitley & Virginia Moss, Ross County, Ohio

I'm trying to find information about parents and/or siblings of John Smitley who married Virginia Moss in Ross County, Ohio around 1871 or 1872.

John's birthdate is recorded as September 1849 in the 1900 census when he, Virginia and their family lived in Decatur, Indiana.

There is another John Smitley born to Philip and Maria in Ross County in 1851 and I'm fairly certain this is not the same John Smitley as he went on to marry a woman named Melissa.
