Inviting you to look at the first test result for tracking lines of descent for Smiths/Smyths that have an ancestral connection from Virginia or Tennessee. The link is at http://www.halcyondays.com/Smith/SmithdNAProject.htmhttp://www.halcyondays.com/Smith/SmithdNAProject.htm -There are more project participants who are awaiting results as well, and you can see which lines are represented from that page.
To be the most successful, the more participants to compare with, coupled with some paper documentation for solid baselines, the better to figure out branches and similarities amongst Smith lines. If you are a male Smith or Smyth (that is, you last name is Smith), you are encouraged to join. If you are descended from a Smith/different surname OR you're a female, you can have a male Smith relative take the test as your proxy.
Read up on the site about what is involved with the cheek swab test, the cost (which is reduced for those who join the project as compared with joining it individually), and whether to choose 12 versus 25 markers.
Keep watching, will update as more results come in.
