The State of South Carolina, know all men by these presents that we Jane Cobbs, John Cobbs, Cynthia O'Haro and James OHaro of the district of Edgefield in the state aforesaid in consideration of the sum of one thousand and forty dollars to us paid by Capt John Ryan of the State and District aforesaid have granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said John Ryan all that part or parcel of land containing two Hundreds and eight acres be the same more or less situate in the district of Edgefield and state of South Carolina on the south side of the new market road so called and on a spring branch of Dry Creek it being part of a tract of land formerly owned by Walter Jackson and since sold by Lawrence Rambo to James Cobbs. The said part or parcel of land containing two hundred and eight acres as aforesaid has such shape form marks and boundaries as the above plat represents. Together with all and singular the rights members heraditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining. To have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said John Ryan his heirs and assigns forever and we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said John Ryan his heirs and assigns against ourselves and our heirs and against any person or persons whomsoever lawfully claims..or to claim the same or any partthere of....witness our hands and seals this 14th day of January in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred nineteen and in the forty third year of the independence of the United States of America.
