Snee / McCarrick connection in NJ late 1800s
My 2nd great grandfather, James SNEE (d1891), of CREEVAUN, CO. SLIGO, had 5 children (wife may have been Mary McNulty but I can find on confirmation one way or the other). One of James' children, my gr-grandfather Daniel (1846-1913), remained on the home farm all his life; I am unsure of what happened to his sister Bridget; but his other two brothers, James & Dominick, and another sister, Mary, emigrated to Jersey City, NJ between 1871 and 1876.
Mary Snee married a Mr. McCarrick and they had 2 daughters, Margaret b. 1879 and Annie b. 1884. Mary was evidently widowed by 1900 as she is listed as a widow. Her brothers James and Dominick lived with her at 165 10th St., Jersey City.
Eventually, my grandmother (dtr of Daniel), possibly one of her brothers, and a cousin, Dominick O'Connor, emigrated to the US and initially stayed in the McCarrick/Snee household for a time according to emmigration records.
I would like to hear from anyone connected to this Snee line to try to sort out these elusive Snees. I hae posted a previous message on this forum under James & Dominick Snee.
