I have not researched the family of William and Sarah Sneed. There is a Sarah Sneed (apparently a widow) living in Halifax in 1789. She is listed with one son in the tax lists.
If I was a betting man I would say that Jacob's middle name was Gilliam, making him Jacob Gilliam Sneed.
