This inforation came to me from my Great Aunt (Alberta) a few years ago.
Also you made mention of Charles Snipp maybe changing his name to Smith and then back to Snipp.I have a theory.Anyone who ever carried the name of Snipp around knows how everyone else misunderstands.My whole single life was spent spelling my name to everyone.Smith showed up quite often on school forms, prescriptions, restaurant reservations, etc.It was probably a mistake that Smith was used.Noone ever believes the name Snipp.
