I did not have the information about the first husband.Do you have when they married and Elizabeth and John's birthdays and death dates. We looked for their graves a few years ago but could not find them. These are the children I have for Lizzie and John.Grace W. Corbin October 10, 1889 from Abstracts of Fauquier Co., VA Birth Records 1853-1896.Wilford or Wilfred Alexander Corbin July 20, 1891 also from Abstracts.Elizabeth Corbin February 1893.Lucy Corbin November 7, 1894 (Abstracts)John Richard Corbin (our line) September 25, 1896 and died December 7, 1965 buried at Little Georgetown Church Cemetary, Fauquier Co., VA.Allen Corbin July 1899.I have the father of John R (who married Elizabeth Soaper) as Wilford, Welfred or Wellford Corbin born about 1826 and Died Dec. 24 1882 and that he married Harriett F. MacClannon.I got that information off the forum posted by Tricia Pettit.I have census records for Welford A. (54) married to Harriett (49) living in Gainesville, Prince William, VA in 1880. He was a carpenter.Their children were Elizabeth (21), Cassins (17), Welford (15), John (12), Edward (11), and Alfred (6).In the 1870 Census I have Wilford A. (44) married to Harriet F. (40) with the following children - James H. (17), Elizabeth (11), Cassius H (7), Wilford A (5), John R (3) and Edward M (3/12).They were living in Center, Fauquier, VA.I have a record from Ancestry.com from the Prince William Co., VA Deaths , 1853-96, that says that Wilford Corbin died December 24, 1882 from consumption.
I have the census record for William in 1900 with Annie L Soaper. He was 70 and she 18 living in Scott, Fauquier, Va.I have the census record for William (54) in 1880 in Center, Fauquier, VA with Maria W. Soaper (58) and Jamisca (28), Elizabeth (21), John W. (19), Ida (18), and Edgar (16).I also have the 1870 census for William (46) in Center, Fauquier, VA with Mariah (43), Thornton (22), Jamesker (20), Richard (19), Rachael (15), Elizabeth (14), John (13), Edgar (9), Ida (11), and Lewis Camel (works on Farm).I found a listing on Ancestry for a William Soaper who enlisted in the Civil War March 10, 1862 from Fauquier Co., VA who served on the side of the confederacyand was in the Warrenton Light Artillery Regiment, VA.I have not had the opportunity to verify if this is our same William.Found two other listings also on Ancestry for William R Soaper in the 12th Battn'n, Virginia Light Artillery. It says that it is film # M382 roll 52.The other listing for William R Soaper says that he was with Capt. Utterback's Co., Va Light Artillery same film roll..I believe you told me that William R. Soaper's mother and father were Rachael and John born in Virginia. That's all I have for now.
