So, if this is the right family for your James Wesley Hall, then he must have died between 1900 and 1910.
There is a John A. Somerville in NJ in 1930 but he is shown born about 1899 NJ - bit of a coincidence I guess.
Do you now John's exact date of birth? There is a John Somerville in Brooklyn NY WW1 draft cards, born July 27, 1887 Ireland
BUT then there is the passenger list for 1922 where he is going to visit his sister - but I see on that that he says he intends to stay in Canada
Could your grandmother be Isabel L. Somerville who married Percival E Hooper? I see a marriage for this couple in Ontario 1912, her mother shown as Maggie Hall which fits with James Hall.Isabel born about 1887.
Her father shown as Currie Somerville, deceased
Isabel L. Somerville came to Canada Oct.7, 1911 aboard the MEGANTIC. she was going to Toronto, she is listed a a domestic, age 24
I looked again for John in Australia and there is another possible.
Name: John Sommerville
Death Age: 73
Birth Date: abt 1888
Death Date: 8 Sep 1961
Cemetery: Woronora Cemetery
Cemetery Location: Sutherland, New South Wales, Australia
Burial Location: Sutherland
There are some possible marriages as well after 1922
Olga Rita May Pennington, married 1927
Margaret E.M. Ross, married 1933
passenger lists to Australia on ancestry only go to 1922/1923 so if he arrived there after that he will not be in them.
I'm sorry I cannot find him in any US records or passenger lists to Australia.
