My understanding is that it is available in libraries and family history societies around Australia. However, if by chance you are in the US you probably won't find it in libraries.I purchased the CD on line (kind of pricey but could be worth it if you have losts of ancestors you are looking for). You could do a Google search for Queensland Pioneer Index CD.I purchased my from Coherent Software Australia, cohsoft.com.au
There is another index put out by the LDS church that has almost everything except Queensland. It is "Australian Vital Records Index, 1788-1905." (Go to familysearch.org then order/download products then Family History then Software and Databases then Vital Records Index. It is only $9.00 but does not include Queensland after maybe 1859 when Queensland separated from NSW.
But even better than that (I just remembered) is the Queensland births/deaths/marriages 1829-1914 on line at www.justice.qld.gov.au/bdm/ You can search by name, etc. (I had forgotten they just recently went on line.)You may find everything you need there.I just did a search for father's name: Henry August Brauer and came up with the births of
1909 Brauer, Vera Lillian Parents: Henry August and Elizabeth Luise Sommer
1911 Brauer, Gwendolene Vivien Parents: Henry August and Elizabeth Louise Sommer
1912 Brauer, Mavis Kathleen Parents: Henry August and Elizabeth Luise Sommer
1913 Brauer, Owen Claude Parents: Henry August and Elizabeth Luise Sommer
