Hello William,
According to the 'New Soper Compendium", by Dawn Soper and her late husband, the late Dr. Earl F. Soper, your Jean Boyd married David Soper. I will type out what Earl writes, plus the information that Dr. James E. Felten says about this line in the NSC. There has been some recent research on this line so I will take a look at that for you too.
We hope that you will share your information on the line with us.

From the NSC.....
David Soper (1751-1841), son of Timotheus/Timothy SOper (1712-1752) andLea/Leah 'Van Huzle' was born in Huntington, New York. He married Jean/JaneBoyd (1749- ) of Orange County, New York.
------------
In his research, Dr. James E. Felten points out that Jean Boyd was the daughter of James Boyd (c1705?-1801?) of New Windsor, Orange County, New York. James was of Scottish stock and had emigrated from Ireland with his children and second wife, in 1756. James' three brothers also settled at New Windsor. Strong oral tradition holds that the Boyds of New Windsor were descendants of the noble Boyds of Kilmarnock, Scotland. The latter family, whose history stretches back to the 11th century, were relatives and allies of the Stuart Kings of England. William Boyd, fourth and last Earl of Kilmarnock, was beheaded, in 1746 for having fought in Bonnie Prince Charlie's rebellion of 1745. (See History of the Boyd Family, by William P. Boyd,(1912), and Annals and Familv Records of Winchester, Connecticut, by John Boyd(1873). The author of the latter book was Jean's grand-nephew. He was Secretary of State of Connecticut and ran for governor on the Anti-Slavery Party Ticket. One of Jean's cousins manufactured guns at New Windsor during the Revolution and was later Sheriff of New York County.
By 1790, David is in Ulster County, New York. He is head of a household. In the American Revolution, David served the patriot cause and received a pension for such service. Census data coupled with vital records of the New Paltz Reformed Church, reveal that David and Jean had a substantial family including: James (c1777-1849); Sarah (1778- ); Timothy (1780-1802); and David Soper (1782- ). New Hurley, Ulster County records would also suggest additional children to be Jonas; Charity (Slott/Stott); and Lea (Fryziner/Vrysyn).
David Soper married (2) Mrs. Mary/Polly (Golden) Whitney (1769-1835), the widow of Zadok Whitney. Both David and Mary Soper are buried in McMillan Cemetery, Conesus, New York. (See The Whitney Family of Connecticut, by S. Whitney Phoenix).
Dr. James E. Felten's research reveals that David stayed in Ulster County for many years, moved to Mendon, Monroe County, where he remained for three years, and then to Conesus, Livingston County, for the remainder of his life except for a few years, including 1836, when he resided in the Town of Lyme, Jefferson County, New York. He is buried in McMillen Cemetery, Conesus, New York.
Dr. Felten also reports that James, Timothy and David Soper, sons of David Soper (1751-1841) were in the first party of settlers in Lyme Township (Chaumont area) in 1801. The first death in Lyme was that of Timothy Soper (1780-1802), who drowned, as reported by Coughlin in "Jefferson County Centennial, 1905". By 1810, only James is recorded in Brownville, New York, which then included Chaumont.

We hope this helps. I will take a look for the recent correespondence on this line.
We hope that you will share your information on the line with us.
