Thanks for your latest. There is a book 'Between Two Worlds' about humor and the Alzheimer patient.I am the 'Joe' in the book.
I really don't have anything on the Quigleys as they are not in my direct line -- you have to stop collecting at some point.Think I have about 25,000 names already. I do remember right off hand there was an Isaac Quigley South out in Knox Co, IL.My great-great grandmother, Sarah Ann (Pearson) South had two sisters who married Quigleys.New Jersey is lousy with Quigleys.
A section of Trenton was called 'dogtown' because the Quigleys kept so many dogs(as the sating goes).
By the way the Souths were not moving all over the place in NJ but rather abt 1835 Mercer Co. was formed by taking a hunk of Hunterdon (that included Trenton), a slice of Somerset Co, a chunk of Middlesex and a big piece of Burlington Co.They took all of old Nottingham Twp from Burlington Co and that is now Hamilton Twp, Mercer Co.Old Nottingham Square is now Hamilton Square....however one of the main roads leading out of Trenton is still called Nottingham Way.
I am surprised that the Mayflower Society is accepting that line down from Thomas and Dorothy Lippington to Benjamin & Keziah. There is no proof but more of as guess.Nothing that would hold water in court.
My new address is: 12021 Tralee Rd - Unit 306, Timonium, MD 21093. Phone: (410) 252-5558.
Was Doris von Storch right with the Winters stuck in that line?
Yes I go back to Thomas and Dorothy but like everyone else cannot find the tie-in.I go back to Joseph South & Sarah,Joseph & Hannah (suppose Clark), Daniel S. who married Sarah Ann Pearson, Daniel Clark who married Vienna McGregor McClurg, Harvey Worthington who marriedElizabeth Burne, Ervin Worthington who married Ruth Louise Holt and me,Donald Worthington, who married Mary Frances Wagner.I have two daughters. My son, Holt Worthington lived only three days.
Gettysburg is 1 hour away.It is a tourist trap but that is one place visitors want to goso 'go' we do!
