Where did you find the birthdate for William?It is not inconceivable for a man to father a son at age 57, especially with a young wife.Interesting that his father gave him cattle at such a young age.

I am finding that DNA can give some interesting answers when you can trace a line down the men.But that can be tricky too.
I agree with the deed of gift being likely at the time of marriage.You have obviously done more research on Thomas than I have.Did you ever see any mention of William Beasley/Basly/Baisley etc?
