Hello, I am trying to find the link in my Southwick line. My gg-grandfather, Amza L. Spencer, was born in McKean County, PA around 1838. A story was written about his life in the 1920s. In the story he says his grandmother was a Southwick. There is no mention of her first name.
Mrs. Southwick was the wife of Jesse Spencer. It appears there is a Southwick family living near the Spencer family in McKean County.
Later in the story he tells how his grandmothers brothers, "William" and David Southwick are living near Iowa and Layfaette Counties, WI. I think "William" should be Samuel. In the story he tellls how he moved to Wisconsin with his parents, Hiram and Henrietta Spencer. They stayed with David Southwick around 1830-1841. In the story William is killed by a man named Caffe. I did some research and found a Samuel Southwick who was killed by a Caffe in 1842.
I believe the Southwick family in Iowa County, WI is connected. If I can locate the parents of Daivid and Samuel Southwick, I might find the first name of my gggg-grandmother Southwick. Thank you for any help.
