Looking for information on John G. (perhaps George) SPECHT (also spelled SPEICH) who was born in Baden, GE, about 1827 and died in either in Sinking Spring or Wietzelville, Berks Co., on January 20, 1895. He was a "potter" in Sinking Spring, Berks Co., PA, and worked for a John GEIBEL in the mid- late-1850's. When John Geibel, his partner in the pottery business, died c. 1858, he married his widow Johanna "Hannah" Riebecca (Siefferman) GEIBEL c. 1859/60. John and Hannah (nee. Siefferman-Geibel) SPECHT had two children: Charles George SPECHT (1860-1934) and John Paul SPECHT (1862-after 1914). Charles G. SPECHT married Esther Elizabeth H. REBER in 1884, daughter of Levi and Sophia (Heckman) REBER, and had four children: (1) Frederick E. SPECHT; (2) Minnie Esther SPECHT; (3) George Reber SPECHT; and (4) Paul Levi SPECHT (the famous "big band" orchestra leader who removed to NYC, NY). Anyone have connections to the SPECHT family. Will share my GEIBEL-SPECHT-SIEFFERMAN information with those interested in the particular family. Trying to find information on John SPECHT's parents who might have lived near Reading, PA, in the 1850's and information on his children and descendants. Sincerely, Bruce Burgee Geibel, Jasper, GA, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
