Hi, I found your postiong and you seemed to know a lot about the Spilkers, or at least a lot more than I do. Anyway, I've been trying to trace my German Ancestors: Henry Koch and Louisa Spilker. Here's what I'm sure of... They're buried at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, along with their four sons and a couple of grandchildren. My father is one of the grandchildren. Those records are open to the public at Crown Hill's website. According to records I found on the Ancestry website, they apparently came to Indiana from Prussia around 1856 to 1858. Now here comes the sketchy part: I found a marriage record for a Henry Koch and a Louisa Spilker dated April 1861 which would allude to the fact that they migrated to Indiana seperately, and met and married in Indianapolis. I also found an 1860 Census of Louisa Spilker, she was clumped in with a group of people coming to Indiana from all points east (New York, Penn., Maryland and more). I realize that this is probably a shot in the dark but I'm hoping you can add some clarification as to Louisa's family. Inasmuch I would appreciate any information on the Spilkers.
