Stephen Spisak
I am looking for information on my mother-in-law's family. Her name was Albina Marie Spisak (Weyhenmeyer). She was born 8/13/1915 in Cleveland, Ohio. Her father was Stephen Spisak and her mother was Mary (Marie) Kovedsky.Stephen was born in a part of Hungary that now belongs to the Czech Republic or Slovakia. He came to the US around or before 1900.Mary came over all by herself when she was approx. 11 yrs.Her whole family was wiped out by a flu epidemic in Hungary.I don't know the dates.Stephen owned a coal company in Cleveland. He and Mary had four children. They lived in the Hungarian section of Cleveland, 3808 E. 123rd St. After she died, he married Helen Polagyi Bene. She was born 6/15/1897 and died 12/25/93.Stephen died around 1950.He spoke five languages, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, German and Russian.I hope someone can help.I have hit a brick wall.I can't even find a record of him coming to the states.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
