Andrew Spradlinge (b. 1652 in Virginia) sired John Spradlin (b. 1678 in Virginia, d. 1733 in Hanover, Virginia.)
John Spradlin sired James Spradlin (dates unknown), who sired Henry Spradlin (b. 1772 in Bedford, Virginia, d. 1816 in Floyd County, Kentucky).
Henry Spradlin sired Nehemiah Spradlin (b. 1805 in Lee County, Virginia), who sired Jonathan A. (or W.) Spradlin (b. 1833 in Floyd County, Kentucky, d. 1910).
Jonathan A. (or W.) Spradlin sired Jonathan T. Spradlin (b. 18 Nov 1866, m. Julia Clifton, d. 13 Apr 1944), who sired William "Willie" R. Spradlin Sr. (b. 28 Jun 1902, m. Hazel Eunice Music, d. 7 Aug 1971).Willie Sr. was my great-grandfather.
William Robert Spradlin Jr. was born on 1 May 1926 and died on 25 Nov 2004.He was married to Irene Fraley, and their second child, Deborah Ann Spradlin Fortney, is my mother.
It is somewhat interesting that William Jr.'s brother, Clay Marvin Spradlin, is married to Irene Fraley's sister, Elvin "Evelyn" Fraley--both of whom still live at the head of Spradlin Branch in Prestonsburg, Floyd County, Kentucky.
What I want to know is if there is anything on Andrew Spradlinge, as that is as far back as I can go with my limited resources.I would like to know the origins of the name...I'm assuming it's English, as he was in Virginia Colony long before the Revolutionary War.
