Sorry I overlooked your e-mail back in September.I didn't have access to the internet for a couple of months last fall, and when I checked my e-mail, your's somehow got lost in the shuffle.
On your question about Betsy Ann, I've got good and bad news. On the good side, my records show her parents were Abner Springs and Hannah. The bad news, after doing some checking, I haven't been able to ascertain for certain why this is. According to a 1850 Wilson Co. Tenn will, Abner's children were as follows: Polly (b.1800 or 1805), Samuel Lewis, (b 10 Nov 1814), Thomas (b.1820), John (b.?), William (b.?), Peggy (b.?), Sally (b?), Elizabeth (b.?), Anny (b.?), Nancy (b.?), Dorcas (b.?), and Winny (b.?). The only date I'm certain of is that for Samuel Lewis (my ggggrandfather). I got this off his tombstone.
Again, I haven't been able to determine for sure why I have Betsy Ann listed as Abners and Hannah's daughter. Obviously, the daughter listed as Anny could be the same person, but, then again.... I'll do some more checking and see if I have more evidence to support Betsy's line.Take care.
