Seeking information on the siblings and parents of George Stacey enumerated in 1820 U.S. census for Clarendon County. The family was last recorded in S.C in a sale of land on January 01, 1822. Deed Book FF, pp. 407-408, Sumter District, SC. George Stacey sold to Richard J. Manning for $2200.00 the land, comprising 534 acres, on the north side of Hawkins Branch, waters of Sammy Swamp, waters of Black River, adjoining Joseph Pack, Daniel Kelly, and Dr. James Capers. On January 26, 1822,Elizabeth, wife of George Stacey, relinquished dower to property described in Deed Book FF, pp. 407-408. The family settled (about 1822)near the Federal road in Conecuh/Monroe counties of Alabama. The family is well documented after the move to Alabama. Some researchers suggest a relationship to John Stacey who settled in Liberty County, GA. and Robert Stacey of Spartanburg, S.C. whose descendants settled in Bibb County, Ala. There is no proof other than a commonality in names.
