This information is correct, and thank you for posting it here. As passed down through the Stamps-Boaz-Stamps family over the years, it was told that Elijah Stamps was the first to die and Elizabeth (Chennault) Stamps willed herself to pass with him. They died in the old Cody Boaz house just south of Talladega Springs, AL in Talladega County. This property is located north of the Coosa County line, near the base of Sulphur Mountain and the sulphur springs.
Elijah had turned 86 that April (14 APR 1782-24 DEC 1868), and Elizabeth would have been 75 in two more months (23 FEB 1794-24 DEC 1868). They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary the month prior to their death (married 2 NOV 1808).
As you can guess, these are some of my ancestors. This house passed into the hands of my grandmother before it was sold several years ago. The James Mallory diary has a wealth of information. Thank you again for the posting.
