The senior Joshua is found on a probate record in the Darlington District SC, where the "Letters of Administration" for "Joshua Standley deceased" were published on 12 Oct. 1821. Bond was posted 5 Nov. 1821 by "Culling Standley" and "Jacob Beck" as written by the Court Clerk, but the signatures say "Cull_n Standley" and "Jacobe Beck.""James Williams" signed as witness.
Descendants are fortunate that they were literate, and could sign this document for themselves. This Joshua's wife was named "Elizabeth."
They lived on the road out of Darlington town about 6 miles, near Swift Creek. The residence of "Mrs. Standley" is marked on an early map of the Darlington District.
Does anyone have any further information on this Joshua and his descendants?
