Seeking identity of Wm. STANSBURY of Baltimore, MD, who reportedly built a two-story stone dwelling in 1736 on a sloping hillside above Curtis Creek and died there in 1748.That area later became known as Stansbury Cove, and the dwelling was said to be the ancestral home of a branch of the Stansbury family.William's son, Joseph, reportedly was an officer in Rev. War, and Joseph's daughter Ruth Anne was the grandmother of Mrs. Joseph C. DALTON (b. 1860s?) of Sparks, MD. I cannot place any of these persons, but am most interested in identifying Wm. STANSBURY.The dwelling was abandoned before Dec. 1954, and was demolished in 1956 despite a plea in the Baltimore Sun papers in Jan. 1955 and an editorial.
