Thanks for your reply.Since I posted that message, I have located the Moses who accompanied Nathan II and Julia (and her parents) to NC.Bill Dulaney and Dan Stanberry did the research on the move and stated that Moses was Nathan's cousin. But to find that cousin was a pain. Moses,b. 2/5/1742, Scotch Plains, NJ, married Sarah Bond, was the son of Recompense Stanbery III and Anna Tracy. Anna died one month after Moses was born.
Moses line:Moses/Recompense III/Recompense II Nathan II, b. 1755 line:Nathan I/Recompanse II
Nathan & Julia, Julia's parents, Moses & Mary moved from Camden, NJ in 1778 to Caswell Co., NC, then to Elk Creek, near Town of Darby, Wilkes Co. (first land grant issued 5/18/1789--endered 1/1/1778).
The Moses you referred to, Nathan II's son, ended up in KY and raised his family there. Only one of Nathan II's children remained in NC--John Harrison, but Moses and Mary stayed and raised their family there.
I have Phebe Stanbery married to ARIUS Kilbourn, not Amos. He was a dentist. Aritus and Phebe appear in 1850/1860 census:Worthington, Franklin Co. OH.In 1870, Phebe was in Sharon, Franklin Co. OH.Evidentally Arius was dead.
Phebe, b. 3/1/1798 line: Recompense and Eunice Ogden/Samuel/Recompense III.
I have not tried to trace the Kilbourn/Kilburns, so I have no idea who the Amos in Wilkes Co. could be.
Hope this helps some. That Stanbery/Stansbery/Stanberry, etc. family was very complicated with the name duplications, but Bill Dulaney and Dan Stanbery did a great job putting it all together. If I can be of any further help, please email me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
