In Wheeler & Wheeler's book on the History of Brunswick, Topsham and Harpswell, ME there are a couple of references to a James STARRATT who was in Brunswick as early as 1718 (pgs. 104 & 638).
There is also a David STARRATT mentioned in the book later around 1818 who may also be linked to this James.
Since most of the online family trees from Rootsweb seem to imply that Peter Starratt's father was a James STARRATT, I am just wondering if this James in Brunswick, might not be him.
Given taht Peter Starratt was in Falmouth/Portland, Cumberland Co., ME (the same county as Brunswick is located), this would not surprise me.
James STARRATT might have been the immigrant of this particular branch who came from Northern Ireland to Maine.
Many of the Ulster-Scot families are found mentioned in Wheeler & Wheeler's book and seemed to remained intermingled once they arrived and settled in Maine.
Many of my own family tree connections are to these very Ulster-Scots.
I am trying to tie up some loose ends in my family tree so wondered if anyone had found any evidence to support this possible theory.
Thank You for any help.
