D1775M John Steed Marr. Lydia Robinson 5-26-1775 Shenandoah Co., Va. Soucre LDS Library and also contained in book "SHENANDOAH COUNTY MARRIAGE BONDS" listed bondsman as Adam Reader.
D1776 First census of the United States listed the following on page 100: Steed, John with 1 free white male of 16 years or older, 5 free white males under 16 year, 5 free white females including heads of families.They in Hillsborough District, Randolph Co., Va.

Jan. 3, 1777; Captain Mar. 30, 1778; trans to 4th Cl. Sep. 14, 1778; taken prisoner at Charleston May 12, 1780; exchanged Oct. 1780; served to close of war; awarded 4,6666 acres".
