My STEED ancesters are from Landrake, Cornwall and have connections with the USA. My greatgrandmother was Martha Annie STEED, daughter if William Austin STEED of Landrake. On the 1881 census for Landrake, his brother George (b1849, Landrake) is married to Mary (born New Hampshire, USA, 1850) and two sons Richard and Thomas (born 1874, Landrake). As far as I know, this family later moved to the USA, possibly to Nashua, New Hampshire. My greatgrandmother's cousin Richard SLEMEN, son of Augusta STEED (sister of William Austin and George) was on the Titanic when it sank - he was travelling to the USA to join family in Nashua (we assume this was his uncle George and family). I would love to make contact with any descendents of this family in the USA.
