I don't know if any of this is helpful information, but here's what I know about my Toledo, OH Steger/Stegar/Stager family. Philip Jacob came to the US with a large group of Stegers in 1853. The group settled around Hillsdale/Hudson, MI. My ggrandfather purchased propertyin Hillsdale (city) and married Josephine Gotsman there in St. Anthony's Church (1863). He used the name James Steger when he married. The moved to Toledo, OH before the birth of there first son in 1865. All of their other children were born in Toledo also. My grandfather George was the youngest. My grandfather never spoke of any extended family. There are several Steger lots in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. 1. Howard A. 1889-1956, Ina E. 1887-19--, Howard M. 1921-1963. 2. Leo Sta--Alt--9-1869 stone very worn, Thomas d. 1869?, Elisabeth July 29, 1880-September5, 1881, Steger, ? "Starbin Alteri --ov 3. I also have the court death lists for Steger and there are many more names than those with stones in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Group 4 is my ggrandparents and their two unmarried sons. I still don't know who George Yeack is. If you'd like copies of the death lists or obituary files from the library, just let me know. I can easily snail mail you copies.
