Henry (1798-1863), Dorchester Co., MD-Maria Key
I am not related to these people, just entering information from one of my books.I would have entered this in the Maynadier Forum, but did not see one. From the book "Huguenot Refugees in the Settling of Colonial America" by the Huguenot Society of America:
Fleeing France for the sake of their Protestant faith, members of the Maynadier family took refuge in England.A son, the Rev. Daniel Maynadier, Jr. (1673-1745) was a sizar at Trinity College, Dublin (A.B., 1699).He went to Rhode Island before 1712.He settled, however, in Maryland, serving first at Westminster Parish, Anne Arundel County, and for more than thirty years (1714-1745), as rector of St. Peter's Parish, Talbot County. He was a physician as well. His son, Col. Henry Maynadier (1760-1849), served in the Revolution as Surgeon's Mate in the Maryland Line, was at the Battle of Brandywine, and removed from the leg of Gen. Lafayette a bullet fired in that battle. He married (1781) Elizabeth Scott, daughter of Francis and Ann Arnold (Ross) Key."
"Other notable descendants of the Huguenot immigrant were:Henry Maynadier Stelle (1798-1863) of Dorchester County, MD., who married Maria Lloyd Key, daughter of Francis Scott Key (1779-1843)."(There are other descendants listed, but not descendants of Henry Stelle.)
