My g-grandfather was Richard Frank Stepp (he went by Frank).Depending on which census you read, he was born in AL or GA in 1847.He married my g-grandmother, Amanda M. Wells (Williamson?) in Union Co., MS in 1887; she had a son, John Wells b. 1883, from a previous marriage.Richard Frank and Amanda had 3 children:Millie R. b. 1890, Will b. 1893, Arnold b. 1897.They are on the 1900 Union Co., MS census, but by the 1910 census they had moved to Van Zandt Co., TX, where they lived until they died. When Amanda died, Richard married again and had one or two more children, a dau., Audie, for sure, and I believe one other.
I've noticed an Elizabeth R. Johnson Stepp as a possible relative. She married Joseph Stepp in AL abt. 1850 and there is an Elizabeth R. Stepp in MS after that. Also, there was a Richard Stepp on the 1880 Union Co., MS census, wife Elizabeth J, son Robert Lee, dau. Corra Bell - -but, unless there was a typo on the LDS index, this Richard was 10 years younger than my g-grandfather.If any of these people and/or places sound familiar, I would like to hear from you.I've been looking for Frank and Amanda's families for years.Ellen
