My grandfather was Ronald Steward and he and a twin brother, Roland, were born to Lydia Boothroyd Steward and a John Steward in Michigan City, IN in the early 1880's.
Ronald reported that his grandfather and family had come west in a covered wagon and had occasion to exchange handshakes with Abraham Lincoln.
His father and mother died at an early age and Ronald was involved in some sort of Lumber business (perhaps a Sawmill?) with cousin (s) eventually he enlisted in the Army in Missouri and served 3 enlistments until he met my grandmother in Brooklyn, New York.
Any leads any can provide or suggest as to my grandfather Ronald Steward's parents and family line will be greatly appreciated.
