Memorial service for Mary Ethel Stickney, 89, will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pasco Presbyteian Church in Pasco.Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries.Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco is in charge of the arrangements.
Miss Stickney, who was born in St. Maries, died Dec. 20.She graduated from high school in St. Maries and from the University of Idaho.Miss Stickney worked for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare with Indain affairs.
She moved to Great Falls, Mont., in the 1950's and owned a gift shop/book store for several years.She moved to Arizona and worked with Native American children through the Bureau of Indain Affairs.
She retired to Phoneix in the 1970's and cared for her mother and sister until their deaths.
During the summers, Miss Stickney visited the Tri-Cities for various events and then moved to Canyon Lakes retirement home there six years ago to be near family.
Survivors include two cousins, George Swisher of Pasco and Roger Swisher of Milwaukee; and a niece, Jane Curry of San Jose, Calif.

I am researching Stickneys that were in the St. Maries area.If anyone has information on her family I would love to have it.
