Stonekings of Schuyler, Illinois

My journey has brought me to Schuyler, IL.I am searching for information regarding Elijah Stoneking Jr b abt 1832 in OHIO, married 10 Feb 1853 to Mrs. Maria Morgan.

Elijah Jr. is the son of Elijah & Sara Cox. I have followed the census records from 1830 to 1850 for Elijah Jr. who during this time was in Schuyler, IL up to age 17.He married Maria Morgan in 1853.

I then tracked him to Linn Co, Missouri in 1860 married to Hester Alice.At that time they had 5 children, 2 of which I believe was from previous marriages.

My dilemna is that I cannot truly connect these two census recordings to be the same Elijah other than listing the same birthplace.

Does anyone know anything about the marriage between Elijah Jr. & Maria Morgan? Did it end in divorce or because of her death?Did they have any children?

Does anyone know about Elijah Jr.'s marriage to Hester Alice? She was from Indiana and I believe this was her second marriage also.

Some records I have found list Elijah & Maria with 3 children, however this information is incorrect. The children Martin V., Jonathan B, and Sara Alice actually belonged to Martha Fogel & Elijah Sr.

Some information show Elijah Jr. death date at 27 Sep 1878, this too is incorrect as this is the date of death for Elijah Sr.

Any information would be appreciated or suggestions as to where to look next, my wall is growing taller!!
