Karen, you are correct that John Stouder was probably born in the 1750's.As you said in your response, John was between 26 and 45 in 1800 according to the census in Western PA.That would place his birth year between 1755 and 1774.We can narrow that down even more because we all know that he was fined 30 pounds in 1776 for failing to register for military service.All18 to 48 year olds were required to register or be fined or worse.He had to be at least 18 in 1776.That means he could not have been born after 1758.That narrows the range of his birth year to be between 1755 and 1758.Based on this documented information, I must agree with you that Chris. II was his father.Further, Chris. (I) would have been 67 years of age in 1755, hence, very unlikely to be John Srs. father! Thanks for your help on this issue.
