I am looking for information on Roland and Mary and their family. Roland and Mary were married in LaPorte Co., Indiana on the 25th of Dec 1867 and are found in Tama Co., Iowa in 1880 census, Clark Twp. Roland was 40, born in Ohio, father's birth place unknown, mother's DC. Mary was 30, born in Indiana, father born Ohio and mother born NY. (John Seward Jessup and Mary Young.) They had Kitty Belle, 11, Carrie Dell, 9, Anna R (Rilla), 4, and Seward, 1-all born in Iowa. By 1900 Mary and the girls were living in Missouri, Jackson Co., Kansas City-no Roland or Seward. I "assumed" they had died. Apparently not as I found Seward's draft registration card. He was living in Santa Monica, CA and said his nearest relative was R.W. Stowe living in "Mariore"?, Oregon. He must have taken his son and left Mary and the girls---? I think perhaps Kitty passed away before marrying, but Rilla married Lawrence J. Mason. She apparently passed away young leaving Lawrence S. (Stowe?), born about 1902, Gertrude M., born about 1907, and Herbert, born about 1909-all born in KS (Wyandotte?). Lawerence and Gertrude ended up in foster care in 1920, living with the Frank Boyce family, but Herbert lived with his aunt and uncle, Douglas and Carrie Dell (Stowe) Harland. I don't know if Lawrence J. had passed away as well or was just unable to care for his family or whatever. Douglas Harland, born about 1875 in Missouri, and Carrie Dell had apparently one son-Stanley William or William Stanley ("Stanley" in 1920; "William" in 1930)born about 1904. In 1930, William, 26, his wife, Golda, 24, born in Missouri, and Herbert Mason, 20, nephew, born KS was living with Douglas and Carrie. Would anyone know of this family, have any information or suggestions? Thanks for any help!
