Here is an obit which shows how the SAUPP family is connected to the STRAYER and RIBLING families.Louise (Ribling) SAUPP was a sister of Elizabeth (Ribling) STRAYER, both daughters of Henry and Susan RIBLING.Their brother George RIBLING was my great-grandfather.

“Chauncy F. Saupp passed away at Philipsburg State Hospital, about midnight Tuesday.Death claimed him when complications set in after injuries were received during the cold weather.He was admitted to the hospital Saturday to receive treatment.”
“Mr. Saupp was one of the oldest residents of Houtzdale, aged 79, born at Stoyestown, Bedford County, coming to Houtzdale to reside 60 years ago.He was then united in marriage to Louise Ribling, who preceded him to the grave about 6 years ago.He had been an active citizen filling many borough offices, the last being Justice of the Peace which he gave up last January.”
“He is survived by the following children:Mrs. T. O. Feightnec, Homestead, Park, Pa.;James G. Saupp, Houtzdale; Frank Saupp, Osceola Mills;Charles R. Saupp, Houtzdale and Mrs. A. F. Meloney, Florida.There are two brothers, Henry of Clifton Heights, Pa. and Andrew of Winber, and two sisters, Mrs. Donnie Walton, Victoria, Va. And Mrs. Ann Eckberg, Bedford, Pa.”
“Funeral services were held from the Charles Saupp home Sunday afternoon with services in charge of Rev. G. P. West, pastpr of the Presbyterian Church.Internment in I. O. O. F. cemetery, Brisbin.”
