Thank you for posting this important information.
The death date for Priscilla is, I believe, incorrect. It should be 1833.If so, the birth date calculated from the age at death would be a perfect match for that recorded in the church book of the German Reformed Church of Frederick, Maryland, where she was christened as Priscilla Wood.
As to her husband John Strayer, is he not the man who was born 8 Dec 1765 and christened Andreas Johannes Streer at the Canadochly Church in Lower Windsor Township, a son of Nicholas Strayer? The Church is nine miles east of York, Pa.The birthdate is somewhat different from what one would calculate from the tombstone reading, but here I suspect that the age at death was "in the 70th year of his age" [i.e. 69].If so, that would conform with the birthdate as given in the church record.
I realize that this doesn't exactly mesh with the idea that this John Strayer died in 1831 in Fairfield County, Ohio, as Glenda Strayer shows on her website on Rootsweb. But the rarity of the given name Priscilla among the Strayers must surely dictate that the John Strayer who married Priscilla Wood in or near Shepherdstown, West Virginia was the saddler of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, who died there in 1845, and not in Ohio in 1831.
