Jackpot: Rev, Christian Streit was the first Lutheran Minister bn in US.,NJ on 6/7/1749. He settled in Winchester 7/19/1785, Lutheran church on two acres on edge of city, now in the Mt. Hebron cemetary. His first sermon was on 7/25/1785. I spent several days in Winchester researching my Sauvain family of Abraham and Lydia Sauvain who came from Switzerland, Their name changed from Sauvain to Sovain to Sovine.Their infant son Abraham Jr.is buried in Winchester. Rev. Streit performed the service. This may be a good source. best regards, Earl"
