I've been collaborating with a number of people (thanks to everyone who joined in!!) over the Internet to try to build a single family tree covering the lineage of all the Strettles from the 1841-1901 UK Censuses - we have succeeded in doing this for 90% plus of the Strettles (they were mainly in Lancashire and Cheshire) and have traced a major common link back to Joseph Strettell at the end of the 17thC.
I'm happy to share this research with anyone who is interested - please let me know.
We are now trying to "step back in time" to trace the links to the earlier generations. It's clear from reading this Forum that other people possess (or have access to) Family Trees of various provenances - is anyone willing to share their Trees to see if it's possible to connect us all together?
I know about World Family Tree - this is a suggestion for some informal collaboration.
