What you say follows my understanding; Hugh also has landrecords for Enoch in Wilkes Co., GA as early as 1785, then in Greene. We believe the listing for "Arney" in the census is a mistranscription of the name "Amy", as in Amy Rush Stringfellow, Enoch's wife; as I said, she can be found as Amy Stringfellow, widow R.S. in the 1827 lottery. As I understand it, Hugh also believes Robert, George and Benjamin to be Enoch's sons. James R. wasn't born until about 1800; can't be a son of Enoch - Amy was way too old - but maybe a son of one of Enoch's son. If you would like more info on Enoch, I can get you in touch with Hugh Stringfellow - he has the marriages of the sons, etc. E-mail me directly at email@example.com if you would like to get in touch with him.
