Martha Stuible was my father's (Lawrence)older sister who died of polio or rheumatic fever (I forget the exact story) as a child. Their father, John Stuible, died of septicemia from an injury sustained while milling lumber near Havillah soon after my father's birth in 1917. At some point in time he and his parents had moved from Michigan. He was married to a Dutch immigrant, Rose Visser, and they had another 5 children (John, George, Walter, Lawrence and Margaret, in order although the first two may be reversed). Rose soon remarried to Clarence Ripley and the family moved to Testalinda Creek near Oliver, BC, and had 4 more children. The eldest three boys died childless, while my father and aunt Margaret had 4 and 2 children, respectively. Both have since passed away. My sister in Georgia has a lovely charcoal drawing made from a photograph of Martha dressed in a sailor outfit with her hair in long braids. We visited the gravesites in Havillah with our father before his death and have photos of the stones.
