Karen Adams Administrator of the Robert Fleming, Felix Stambach and Connected Families Assoc. Website ____________________________________________________________ 1.Andrew Jackson "A. J."1 Stumbaugh (do you know who his parents are) was born Abt. October-1831.He married Elizabeth. She was born Abt. 1833 in Pennsylvania.
Notes for Andrew Jackson "A. J." Stumbaugh: In the 1850 Frenkin County, Pennsylvania census he is living with Conrad Kyner - Phillip Kyner - Margaret Stumbaugh - Lawrence/Lorentz Stumbaugh - Johannes Stambach - Felix Stambach In the 1860 censusfor the same area we find the following family and homes as counted: Family 187 Conrad Kyner 50 s. Lydia 46 Family 188 Andrew J. Stumbaugh 29 s. Eliza 26 Family 189 Philip Kyner 77 . Catharine 75 Here we find that Andrew J. Stumbaugh now has his own home and he is living between Conrad and his father Philip who is the son of the original Conrad Kyner married to Margaret Stumbaugh.
Sources are these census records: 1860 Roll 1112 Sheet 27 Southampton Township Franklin County, Pennsylvania 1870 Roll 1346 Sheet 563 Shippensburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania 1880 T755 Roll 59 ED 154 Sheet 14, Lenawee County, Michigan 1910 Roll 66 ED 68 Sheet 7 Madison Township, Lenawee County, Michigan 1920 M1568 Roll 234 ED 26 heet 6 Lenawee County, Michigan
It is possible that his wife Elizabeth may have been a Bittinger or she had a sister who married a Bittinger since there was a Joephine Bittinger aged 10 and a niece living with them at the time of the 1880 census.
The Memorial Lutheran Church of Shippensburg has records that state Andrew J. Stumbaugh was baptized Jan 1850 and his wife Elizabeth A. was baptized Jan 1860 by certificate. These same church records state they were present at this church until 21-Apr-1878 and it is assumed they moved to Michigan to be near their son Charles.Charles was married and he and his family were counted with Andrew J. Stumbaugh in the 1880 census of Michigan but they apparently moved on to Kansas before 1883.
